Bye bye Flash…

Adobe decides to cease development of mobile Flash and focuses on HTML5 instead. This signals the ending of an era. Great news for standards, but Flash will be missed nevertheless.

What does this mean business efforts? Well if you have already begun shifting to HTML 5 development it doesn’t mean much. But if you have many legacy Flash based products, then it may be time to speed up migration efforts.

Facebook’s Zuckerberg: If I Were Starting A Company Now, I Would Have Stayed In Boston

If you’re like me and use google maps to estimate time with traffic, you may have noticed that they have removed this feature from their site. Apparently it was not accurate enough for them to be happy with it. For now, you can still see it on your iPhone app. Don’t worry though, sounds like they are working on something more accurate and will be bringing it back.

Connect Outlook to Facebook/LinkedIn

The internet can be such an unsocial place. Despite any “social” network, most interactions can easily be impersonal and cold. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to see who it is you’ve received an email from? With the Outlook Social Connector you can do just that. It’ll pull the sender’s profile pic from several social networks and, depending on their privacy setting and/or your friendship status with them on the social network, it’ll pull their activity and posts as well. It will also organize all the emails they’ve sent you all in one place. It supports Facebook, LinkedIn, Viadeo and Xing and works with Outlook 2010.
